Katherine Bleaken

Katherine Bleaken is a dedicated music educator with 23 years of teaching experience in New Jersey. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to teach students ranging in age from 3 to 18, as well as provide private piano instruction.

Katherine currently teaches elementary band and orchestra and directs the 7th and 8th grade choirs in South Plainfield. She is passionate about helping students discover their love of music, build confidence, and develop their talents. Under her direction, her choirs have received numerous awards and honors, including recognition as Best Overall.

Katherine earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). She has also worked closely with the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA), supporting and promoting music education opportunities for students and collaborating with fellow music educators throughout the region.

Music is also a significant part of Katherine’s family life. She is the proud mother of three children—a high school student, a middle school student, and a fourth grader—all of whom are actively involved in music.

With more than two decades of experience, Katherine continues to share her passion for music and inspire the next generation of musicians.
