Nathan Schwed

Nathan is thrilled to be joining Rise Up Chorus as the Bass Section Coach! He began singing in choirs in 3rd grade as a student in Basking Ridge, where he found his passion for choral music and the community that it brings together. Nathan has performed with choral ensembles at various venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kimmel Center, and NJPAC. While a student, he served as the Choral Conducting Fellow with the Hopewell Valley Chorus and Westrick Music Academy’s Princeton Boychoir and Girlchoir. Nathan is the Choral Director at Tenafly Middle School, and he also serves as the Director of Music for Children and Youth at Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church. Nathan holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from The College of New Jersey, where he studied voice with Dr. Brandi Diggs and choral conducting with Dr. Heather Mitchell. Beyond singing, he also loves seeing and working on musical theatre productions!
