Nicolas Noa

Nic is ecstatic to be returning to Rise Up Community Arts for his fourth season! For the past three, he served as the Bass Sectional Coach and last season became the inaugural Teen Chorus Director, now entering its second season. In June 2026, he was the Bass soloist in the Mozart Coronation Mass K. 317 and Vesperae solennes de confessore K. 339.

From 2022-2026, Nic served as the Director of Choirs at Somerville High School where he conducted eight vocal ensembles. In his time at Somerville, he initiated a District Choral Arts Festival that served all choral students from grades K-12. Additionally, he founded and advised the premiere chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Throughout the years, dozens of students from Somerville were accepted into the CJMEA Region II Honor Choirs, of which Mr. Noa was the manager for five years.

He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts of Rutgers University. During his time there, he served as President of the Kirkpatrick Choir, working closely with both Dr. Patrick Gardner and Dr. Brandon Williams. The Kirkpatrick Choir received an honorary invite to compete in the Marktoberdorf International Choir Competition in Germany and placed 5th out of 14th ensembles worldwide. Most recently, he graduated with a Master’s in Music Education from Florida State University after completing his final semester in the Summer 2026 in London. He is actively involved with professional development organizations such as the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). In the Summer of 2025, he presented a session titled, “Trial By Fire: Thriving in the First Five Years” which was geared towards pre-service and novice teachers with the goal helping them to establish a long-lasting teaching foundation as well as techniques for navigating the beginning years of the profession.

Outside of the Rise Up Community, Nic is currently the Vocal Music Teacher at Ocean Township High School. He also serves as the Bass Member of the Peapack Reformed Church Vocal Quartet. His hobbies include running, reading, pickleball, traveling, and video games.
